Lied the Future programme
Applications for the Lied the Future 2026 programme open on 27 October. The deadline to submit your application is 10 December 2025.
Artists selected to take part in the programme agree to all terms and conditions, including participation in the Schubertíada Academy, which will take place during the second half of August 2026.
A total of 5 duos will be selected to join the Lied the Future 2026 programme.

What is the Lied the Future programme?
Lied the Future is a European initiative that supports emerging talents specializing in art song. Its main goal is to promote the professional integration of young singers and pianists into the international concert circuit through a process that combines training, mentorship, and stage experience.
The Lied the Future programme includes:
- Participation in the Schubertíada Academy: Over four days, artists will receive mentorship and individual coaching from renowned mentors such as Wolfram Rieger, Olaf Bär, Christiane Karg, Matthias Goerne, and Christiane Iven.
- Lied the Future Artists Concert: Featured in the official programme of the Schubertíada Vilabertran 2026.
- Paid concert network: Opportunities to perform in a series of remunerated concerts across Europe.
- Complementary activities: Additional sessions and experiences to enrich the artistic journey.
