Three Lied the Future artists stand out at one of the world’s most prestigious international Lied competitions.
From September 29th to October 4th, Stuttgart hosted the 15th edition of the Internationaler Wettbewerb für Liedkunst, organized by the Hugo Wolf Akademie. Considered a benchmark international competition for voice and piano duos, the event offers young performers a platform to present their talent to an international jury and audience.
Among the 33 duos selected to participate in the live rounds, four were composed of artists affiliated with Lied the Future: Katharina Bierweiler and Jyri Mishukov, Èlia Farreras-Cabero and Lucas Huber Sierra, and Klara Brockhaus and Bruno Meischner.
Their participation resulted in particularly notable achievements: soprano Èlia Farreras-Cabero and pianist Lucas Huber Sierra, Lied the Future 2024 scholars, were awarded a prize at the competition. Baritone Bruno Meischner, a Lied the Future 2026 scholar, was also recognized with a prize alongside his duo partner, pianist Wan-Yen Li.
